Health & Wellness Tip

Do you crawl through the aisles of GNC or Whole Foods searching for the perfect, all-inclusive multi-vitamin that will boost your energy and keep you healthy? It's confusing. One day you read an article that tells you to RUN and get your multi, and the next day you hear on the news that most vitamins are synthetic chemicals that your body gets no use out of – in essence, waste of money. Living Kidney Donor Needed

Message from Shobha Uppuluri, long time Chinmaya Mission member —

My brother was diagnosed with end-stage
kidney disease. The wait for a deceased donor kidney can be more than 5
years.
Kidneys from living donors can last twice
as long as one from a deceased donor.
If
you are healthy, age 18-65, and are willing to donate a kidney, please contact Shobha
Uppuluri, Living Donor Champion at:
(240)
423-8421 or
Uppuluris@gmail.com

KEY POINTS ABOUT BEING A DONOR:

  • STUDIES SHOW THAT KIDNEY DONORS LIVE A
NORMAL, HEALTHY LIFE WITH ONLY ONE KIDNEY.
  • A KIDNEY FROM A LIVING DONOR LASTS
TWICE AS LONG AS A DECEASED DONOR. SURGERY TO REMOVE A KIDNEY IS MINIMALLY
INVASIVE, REQUIRING ONLY THREE SMALL INCISIONS AND ONE SLIGHTLY
